Welcome!
Hi and Welcome. Some of you may remember me from my days at the Alaska Highway News, and as Editor of The Northerner, or perhaps when I was freelancing for Oilweek, Northwest Business Magazine and the Peace Country Farmer. Yes, it was a long time ago, but I have missed the news and this seems like a good way to get back into it. I'll be writing about issues and other news in and around Fort St. John, things that I feel need to be shared, using skills I honed covering the vast variety of news and events in the past.
I'll be starting with School District 60 - I faithfully covered the Board of Trustees meetings for years, so it's rather like a homecoming for me. As I am only one woman, and can’t cover everything, I’ll be concentrating on mainly on asking those questions the others don’t ask. I won’t be simply regurgitating press releases, but instead aim to get the questions that need to be asked, answered. That said, if you have news, please send me a message. Fort St. John and area is full of fascinating news and events, and I will do my best if you have something you’d like to see featured.
I’m not competing with the likes of Energeticcity.ca or the Alaska Highway News - they have resources I don’t. Instead, The Broken Typewriter will be more of a news magazine style publication.
I'm looking forward to reconnecting with those of you who are still making things happen in the BC North Peace, as well as the newer people who help make this region what it is today.
Thanks for visiting The Broken Typewriter ~ Tania
