Happy May Long Weekend!!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous long weekend, doing whatever it you enjoy on this first official weekend of the almost-summer season – be it planting your garden, camping, boating or taking your kids to the Spray Park at Centennial Park, which now open for the season, or just enjoying the outdoors.
I’ve been out of the office a bit myself, working on the gardens, helping build our new enormous greenhouse and planning all the wonderful things I can grow in it.
In the news at The Broken Typewriter, the top story of the week is the survey – Should BC join the separatist movement in Alberta? – if you haven’t checked it out, it’s open until Wednesday, if you’d like to check it out. The results have been fairly consistent throughout the week so far, and I will release them shortly.
The fate of Adeline Kelly Building at the North Peace Regional Park (aka Fall Fair grounds) has finally been decided, but North Peace Fall Fair Society president Bruce Christensen says they will move on, and have already begun to make plans to have the multi-purpose building they had hoped to turn the Adeline Kelly Building into.
Do you have an innovative business idea, or invention that needs start-up capital, and do you welcome the idea of competing against others in the North with similar ambitions in a Dragon’s Den-style competition? The Northern Angel Summit, created by Northern Innovation Network may be just the place for your company and ideas.
In Smart Money this week, Brad Brain wrote about the impact of that daily $5 cup of coffee on your investments, and discusses ways to assess your spending to make the best impact on your investments.

On Thursday, the Peace River Regional District holds its regular meeting at 10 a.m. in the Dawson Creek office and streamed live on Facebook. The Regional Hospital District Board meeting also takes place at this time – agendas for both meetings can be found here.
As mentioned above, the separation survey closes on Wednesday – comments are all open to all subscribers. The results will be posted following the conclusion of the survey.
