Peace In Pictures: August 2024
Labour Day weekend heralds the end of summer. The kids are back at school tomorrow, so remember those 30km/hr zones! But before we give up on summer entirely, here’s a wee look back at August 2024 and some of the fun events that took place in the North Peace last month.
From Gold Panning in Taylor to the Fall Fair at North Pine, free swims at the pool, days enjoying the sprays at the spray park, camping, Farmer’s Markets and a whole lot less smoke than 2023, August was a fun month in the Peace.

The Fort St. John Country Quilters Guild not only had many quilts on display in the Old Log Cabin, but one could watch quilters working on a quilt and participate in the “Care Quilt”.
Booths near the office were filled with all sorts of wares, and a couple of local politicians as MLA candidates Jordan Kealy and Dan Davies had booths there for the weekend, meeting both local and visiting residents.
In the small animal cages and barns there were a lot of adorable animals, as usual, while local youngsters prepared their larger animals, for showing. Over at the Light Horse Ring, junior competitors demonstrated their English riding skills.

There was music all day at the Fair, as well as Wagon Rides around the grounds. Sheep waited patiently to be round up during the Stock Dog Demonstrations.
