Locals honoured at 16th Annual Community Awards

The weather cooperated on Saturday afternoon for the 16th Annual Community Awards, held during the Remax Block Party at Centennial Park, which also celebrated Moose FM's 20th anniversary. Every year, the award ceremony is held to recognize the extraordinary contributions of people and businesses in the community. This year, although the number of awards was cut down to four - Youth Award, Business Award, Citizen of the Year and a new award for this year the Non-profit Award. In addition to the awards, the City presented the North Peace Ride for the Disabled with a cheque for $2,000. The winners are also honoured with a plaque on each of four benches in the revitalized portion of 100th Street, between Brown's Social House and Festival Plaza - there are two benches on each side of 100th Street which received plaques.
