Bright Nights in June
North Peace Cultural Centre's Annual Arts Celebration
All kinds of arts and crafts were on hand at the North Peace Cultural Centre last weekend, in the NPCC’s annual Bright Nights in June celebration. On Saturday, there was a stage set up in the parking lot, with a variety of musicans who entertained passers-by, and those artists whose stalls were also outside - such as the Potters and the Printmakers.
Inside the Cultural Centre, there were Highland Dancers, Friends of the Library, the Fort St. John Country Quilters, the North Peace Spinners and Weavers, as well as Heather Truscott from the Sew It Yourself Shop who was teaching kids how to make their own tie-dyed T-shirts.

The North Peace Spinners and Weavers Guild not only demonstrated a variety of spinning methods, but they had fresh, unspun wool for sale - it has a number of uses including lining hanging baskets and as mulch in one’s garden.
On the Rigid Heddle Loom, interested people could try their hand at weaving. Eventually, the Weavers hope to create an art installation with the finished pieces.
