Great column! Not sure how a provincial premier cannot realize how a new pipeline to the north west coast wouldn’t benefit the province of British Columbia and the rest of Canada. We’ve been hearing about the loss of jobs in the forest industry. Pipeline construction might not create permanent jobs but it can’t help but fill the gap for workers who live in some of the affected smaller communities.

As an Albertan it’s difficult to see Premier Eby’s logic. I am 100% certain if BC wanted to transport northeastern BC oil or gas by pipeline to Hudson’s Bay, the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta would wholeheartedly welcome such a project. I have always felt that northeastern BC has been treated poorly by the folks in Victoria.

Thank-you! Just don't get me started on how NEBC has been treated poorly (cash cow) by Victoria. I'm pretty sure I wrote about that earlier this year - BC could have it all, I think was the title of the piece.

Read that.

Pretty obvious to Albertans how NEBC is treated by their government. Probably why there are 3 dams on the Peace. Out of sight, out of mind in Victoria.

Years ago there was talk of NEBC wanting to join Alberta. Often think how things might have been different.

Keep up the great work!
