There were a few events happening in the North Peace this week whose stories are best told through photographs.
High on Ice Winter Fest
Where the Wild Things Are - part of the Storywalk at Centennial Park. These sculptures were created by professional carvers David Ducharme and Susanne Ruseler (Tania Finch photos)
The Ice Slides are always a big hit with families - on the left is a short pair of slides for younger kids, while on the right is a much longer and steeper pair of slides for the more adventurous.
Single Block Carving competition gives the professional carvers a chance to have some fun, pitting their speed and creativity against each other, and creating some stunning pieces. This piece was created by Dmitri Klemenko.
At the Lil’ Chippers Wall, kids of all ages had the chance to try ice and snow carving for themselves.
Courthouse Protest
Community members held a protest on Thursday morning outside the Provincial Court Buiding in Fort St. John in support of the Coutts Four - four men who have been in jail in Coutts, AB since February 2022, following their participation in a protest at the AB-US border. (Tania Finch photo)
